The Yellowjackets have been performing for more than 40 years and remain one of the most versatile, soulful, and musically sophisticated jazz ensembles today. They combine jazz, soul, and funk to create their unique fusion style.
Vocalist Kenny Washington will open the show. Born in New Orleans with deep roots in gospel singing, he eventually swayed into jazz and, after college, sang with U.S. Navy ensembles for nearly a decade. His extraordinary range, beautiful tone, and versatility make him one of the most sought-after vocalists in jazz.
