From her first No. 1 recording, “He’s A Rebel,” through her string of hits with the legendary “Wall of Sound” hit factory (“Da Doo Ron Ron” and “Christmas Baby Please Come Home”), to the countless backup gigs for artists like Sam Cooke, Elvis Presley, Cher and Aretha Franklin, Darlene Love continues to blaze a trail of success in the music industry. In 2011 she was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame (no wonder she’s been hailed as the greatest singer in pop music!). She’s also proven herself a talented actress, starring as Danny Glover’s screen wife in the “Lethal Weapon” films and lighting up Broadway in such musicals as “Grease” and the Tony Award-nominated “Leader of the Pack.” As a member of The Shirelles (Will You Love Me Tomorrow), she shared the honor of being named one of the 100 best acts of all time by Rolling Stone in 2004. Opening the evening’s performance is Little Anthony (yes, of The Imperials and the one noted for his high-pitched falsetto voice), backed by his own band and singers!
